TASRC Trip

The Armidale School

The Armidale School Rugby Carnival (TASRC) is the largest Under 12s rugby carnival in Australia. Each year, this event attracts over 1,000 young rugby enthusiasts, their coaches, and supportive families who travel to Armidale to participate. The Carnival prioritises sportsmanship, and the highly coveted Team of the Carnival award is presented each year to the team displaying outstanding performance and sportsmanship both on and off the field. CGS proudly won this trophy in 2019. The students will be accompanied by Adam Hall and Dan Wetherall.

Tour Cost & Transport

The approximate cost for this tour is $1,350 per player (based on 19 players attending). This includes:

  • $360 for the TASRC package The TASRC package includes:

  • Accommodation and meals for the weekend

  • Comprehensive insurance

  • A team photograph

  • A Carnival cap

  • Our team will stay in the boarding houses at The Armidale School (TAS).

  • $290 for bus hire

  • $700 for flights (offset by Rugby Association contribution)

Transport Details:

  • Students will travel by Deanes bus to Sydney. Plane to and from Armidale, then Deanes bus from Sydney to Canberra on the return leg.

  • Parents must arrange their own flights and accommodation in Armidale or the surrounds.

ITINERARY

Friday, 11 April

  • 10:00 am – Depart CGS for Sydney Domestic Airport - Terminal 3

  • 3:30 pm – Board Flight QF2030

  • 4:40 pm – Arrive in Armidale; transfer to TAS by bus

  • 5:00 pm – Check-in and settle into accommodation

  • 6:00 pm – Dinner at TAS Dining Hall

  • 7:30 pm – Managers’ Meeting

Saturday, 12 April

  • 7:00 am – Breakfast at TAS Dining Hall

  • 9:00 am – Matches commence

  • 12:00 pm – Lunch break

  • 12:30 pm – Afternoon matches resume

  • 4:00 pm – Games conclude

  • 4:15 pm – 'TASRC Spirit of Rugby' Relay

  • 4:45 pm – Carnival Welcome & Presentations

  • 5:15 pm – Teams return to accommodation

  • 6:00 pm – Dinner at TAS Dining Hall

Sunday, 13 April

  • 7:00 am – Breakfast at TAS Dining Hall

  • 9:00 am – Matches commence

  • 11:25 am – Games conclude

  • 11:30 am – Carnival Presentations

  • 12:00 pm – Team departs TAS (either walk into town for lunch or tour of local waterfalls)

  • 5:05 pm – Board Flight QF2031

  • 6:20 pm – Arrive at Sydney Airport

  • 7:00 pm – Depart Sydney by Deanes Bus

  • 10:30 pm - 11 pm– Arrive at CGS, Alexander Street
