The Early Years Learning Framework identifies making connections with the community as valuable in early childhood.

A small group of Pre-Kindergarten children from the Northside campus are going to walk to Southern Cross Care Campbell to connect with the elderly. Parents and carers of those students attending in Group One will be sent a permission request for this activity.
In the communal space at Southern Cross Care, the students will sing with the residents and contribute to their vegetable garden. The second small group will visit the aged care home in Term 2.

While on excursions, ratios are maintained at 1:6 or 1:5 near water, or below at all times.

A risk assessment has been prepared and is available for all excursions.
