The National Museum of Australia facilitates a program called ‘Museum in the Classroom’ in which museum educators bring objects into the classroom for a hands-on, curriculum-aligned learning experience. One of the programs; Understanding People, Culture and Country; provides an opportunity for students to handle and explore a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander objects to help them understand the ways in which Indigenous cultures have evolved and adapted in the last 200 years.
