Kindergarten Literacy Parent Information Session | Kindergarten Parents and Carers: Red Hill Campus
As our children commence their first years of formal schooling, it is important that we establish a foundation of effective practices both at home and at School to set children up for success in Literacy. CGS prides itself on using a multifaceted, evidence-based approach to developing our students’ literacy skills. This includes:
• InitiaLit (K-2) for phonics instruction
• Teaching writing using authentic mentor texts as scaffolds
• Our K-2 Session Reading programme – commencing in Term 2
• Regular Home Reading – commencing in Term 2
This will be an opportunity to hear about our instructional approaches, receive guidance on how to support your child’s learning at home, and ask questions on any of the above.
A separate session will be held at Northside Campus at 3:20pm this afternoon.
