Further Information: Alongside the schools existing bush school program, CGS Care children will be participating in the ACT Government initiative, Nature Play CBR. The purpose of this program is to increase the time children spend in unstructured play outdoors and in nature. On a regular basis, our aim is for the children to visit Mount Ainslie. Children will have time to explore the natural environment, build sculptures and complete missions outlined in the Nature Play Passport. Some of the missions that children will have the opportunity to complete are: build a bush sculpture, master grass whistler, what’s that called, come here kangaroo, feathered friends and many more.
Each fortnight we will take a group of children who would like to participate in the program on a bush walk to Mount Ainslie. We anticipate that we will leave the school at 3.30pm and return by 5.00pm. Any children not participating in the regular walks will be supervised at the service until the group returns.
Children are encouraged to wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and fully enclosed walking shoes.
If you would like to join us on a bush walk please contact Tanya Alcorn or Kate Watson
