Each year, the Children’s Book Council of Australia brings children and books together through CBCA Book Week. During this time, schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Book Week 2022 is in Week 6, and the Primary School have been busy coordinating a variety of events throughout the week to promote a love and enjoyment of reading for our students.
On Monday 22nd August (Northside Campus) we encourage your child to come to School dressed as a character from a book. We encourage students to be creative with their costumes and think outside the box! This day will involve a celebration of literature, beginning with a short costume parade in the morning followed by buddy reading and book discussions across the Primary School.
Parents are warmly invited to attend the Book Week parade, from 8:45-9:45am on Northside Playground
Parking is limited, please follow school campus and surrounding street parking rules as displayed. Please BYO camping chair and be aware that social distancing will be required.
The morning parade will be cancelled in the event of wet weather or oval closure, however students will have many opportunities to share their costumes and reading with each other throughout the day.
We look forward to celebrating the wonderful world of literature with your child during Book Week.
