Dear Blaxland House Students and Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope you have all had an enjoyable summer. As a (re)launch for Blaxland House, and to provide an opportunity for new students, and their families, to meet and socialise with returning students and families, we are holding a community picnic down by the lake at the end of Week 1.

12-2pm Sunday February 10th

Weston Park Section C, Yarralumla

I know it’s a busy time of year, but if you are free it will be a really nice way to spend a Sunday lunch. So pack a picnic, bring your swimmers if you want to take a dip, and prepare to join in on a game of Bocce or a throw of the Frisbee.

For the boarding parents, I understand that it is unlikely that you’ll be able to attend, but I have organised with Mr Downey for us to get the boarders down there on the day…

Boarders, if you could meet me up at the common room at 11:30am. Me and one of the tutors will drive the school transit and the boarding van down to Weston Park. We will also get you back to school afterwards.

In the meantime, enjoy the long weekend and the last week of holidays. A reminder that new students will be at school for Welcome Day on Monday Feb 4th, and actual classes start back for all years on Tuesday Feb 5th. I hope you are all looking forward to the year as much as I am. See you soon.
