All CGS rugby players are invited to put their name forward to be considered for theMattGiteau Cup competition to be held on Thursday 12 March 2020.

CGS will be entering two teams in the Years 3/4 competition and two teams in the Years 5/6 competition. Both teams will include numbers from both year groups. A maximum 12 students will be selected for each team.

TRAINING/TRIALS:

These are skill-based only, non-contact.

Training/trials for all teams will take place at first break on Wednesday 4 March. Students should meet at the PE Office at 11:00am. Students can wear their PE/School uniform with trainers. Once teams are selected there will be a further training session (TBA) during school hours.

DETAILS:

·        Date: Thursday 12 March 2020

·        Venue:Campese Oval, Crn Yass Road and Kings Hwy, Queanbeyan

·        Time: First game commences at approx 9:30am (All players will need to be at the

ground by 9:00am). The competition concludes at 2:30pm.

·        Bring: Water bottle, lunch, snacks, and full CGS Rugby uniform: jumper, shorts, socks, boots, head gear and mouth guard.

Referees will be provided and Medical Officers will be present at the carnival.

Students will need to complete the below Nomination Form and return it to Mr McMahon by Friday 29 February to be considered. No late nominations will be accepted. Teams will be published by an Announcement after the training session on 4 March.

The selected players will also need to make their own way to and from the event.

The four teams will be accompanied by Mr McMahon, Mr Wetherall, and two external coaches.
