This week, Kindergarten and Year 2 will be joined by Duncan Smith, Wiradjuri elder, for their bushwalk on Wednesday 21 August.
Duncan has had a long association with the
Northside Campus and one of his beautiful artworks is on permanent display in the Kindergarten Courtyard. He has mentioned how much he enjoys speaking with the children when they recognise him at other local events.
Duncan and the children will be walking up to the memorial on Mount Ainslie and Duncan will be talking about what this memorial means to his people.
Parents and carers who would like to accompany the children are reminded that they will need to hold a Working with Vulnerable People card and should let their class teacher know. PE Uniforms are to be worn to School on this day and parents
are asked to make sure that the children always wear their long pants on bush walks – especially later this term when snakes may be sighted. Children will need their sports jumper and waterproof jacket.
