As part of the Year 7 Outdoor Education Programme, Burgmann, Jones, Sheaffe, Hay and Middleton students will be participating in a 3 day excursion to Nowra Ski Park. Optimum Experiences have been engaged as an external provider.
Below is a summary of the proposed activities. Should the proposed activities and locations need to be modified, you will be notified. Activities include: Abseiling, archery, rock climbing, high ropes, raft building, canoeing, bushwalking, camping, swimming, navigation, initiatives/team building, camp stove cooking, campfires and damper.
Departure: Golden Grove - 7:30am
- If weather is inclement, we will meet in the Snow Centre.
Return: Golden Grove - 4pm. An announcement via CGS Connect will be made should this change.
Students must bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for day 1. All other meals will be provided. Please ensure that this food follows the schools nut aware policy.
Accommodation and Facilities:
Accommodation will be in tents at Nowra Ski Park with access to toilets and showers ($1 coin - students to bring).
Staff and Supervision:
Each group (approx 23 students) will be supervised by two Optimum Experience leaders and one CGS staff member. Additional activity leaders and staff where required. Additional CGS staff are on hand to assist where required.
Please ensure the CGS medical database is up to date via the "Update Student & Family Details link and if necessary please advise of any dietary issues or concerns to outdoor.education@cgs.act.edu.au
If you haven't already, please ensure you complete the Optimum and Treetops Adventure Registrations by Wednesday 12th February.
